MAJOR boost for Liverpool second leg tie against Bayern Munich in the Champions League

Bayern Munich right-back Joshua Kimmich will miss next month's Champions League clash with Liverpool.

The defender was one booking away from a ban going into the last 16 first-leg and after being shown a yellow card by Italian referee Gianluca Rocchi at Anfield on Tuesday night he will now miss the return the fixture at the Allianz Arena.

The German international was booked in the 27th minute for a challenge on Sadio Mane as the Liverpool attacker looked to break down the left hand side and the score remained at 0-0.
This is Kimmich's third booking in the competition and that triggers an automatic suspension.

The only option Bayern manager Niko Kovac has as replacement at right-back is 33-year-old Rafinha who has made six appearances in the Bundesliga this season.
