Pep Guardiola respond to Kyle Walker's tweet by telling his players to keep tweeting

Pep Guardiola has told his players to carry on tweeting - after Kyle Walker took down a post mocking Liverpool.

Manchester City defender Walker appeared to taunt Liverpool in the wake of Jurgen Klopp's side's 1-1 draw at home to Leicesteron Wednesday.

Walker posted a picture of Leicester and England defender Harry Maguire talking to his girlfriend, with the caption 'So they thought they were gonna go 7 points ahead', before hastily taking it down later on Thursday.

The tweet was a gentle barb aimed at Liverpool, following their failure to capitalise on City's 2-1 defeat at Newcastle 24 hours earlier and beat Leicester to open up a seven-point lead.

Liverpool boss Klopp was today critical of Walker's tweet, but when quizzed on it himself, Guardiola dismissed the issue and said he was unconcerned by the activity of his players on social media.

"I don't control them and I'm not concerned about social media of the players, the players tweeting on social media, Instagram, I cannot control it," said Guardiola.
